Village Memories
The Village was one of Baton Rouge's most storied restaurants and we've got 45 years worth of patron memories to prove it.

" When I was in high school my mother(camille lay) was the food checker in the kitchen and i would go after school and eat in the kitchen: something that was cooked by mr. frank sardello or mr. paul lepadote."
D. Lay
" I will never forget my first visit to The Little Village. My brother, who is a frequent customer, had been telling me I needed to try this restaurant. My husband and I went and we have been back several times. The Little Village is hands down, the best restaurant in Baton Rouge! The Eggplant Napoleon is the best seafood dish I have ever eaten! The service is excellent and the atmosphere wonderful. I have never been disappointed with anything to do with this restaurant. For an unforgettable dining experience you cannot go wrong with visiting The Little Village, and yes, the bread is extraordinary. "
R. Vossberg
" As a child, I remember my parents always talking about going to The Village - unfortunately, I think they thought we were too bad to go there...so when I found out the law firm where I worked as a young adult (many years ago) had its Christmas party at The Village, boy did I jump at the chance to go. It was wonderful and worth all the wait. It then became THE place for special occasions!! When it closed, it was a sad day."

" When I was a student at LSU and my parents came in from New Iberia to visit, whatever the occasion, Daddy opted to take the family to The Village to eat. It was almost as thought the occasion that brought him to town provided an excuse to dine at The Village! Daddy took the family there when I graduated from LSU, and my husband and I went there after we got engaged. In addition, our rehearsal dinner was held there as well. I have often wished The Village was still around, so it's exciting to me that Little Village is open. This weekend, we will celebrate my husband's 55th birthday at Little Village with several of our friends and family, making yet another "Village Memory" for our family. "
P. Braud
" My husband and I had our first date on November 7, 2007 at the Little Village downtown. It was lunchtime and we had a blind date. The date turned out to be a success and only 3 months later, on February 7, 2008, he proposed to me using an iPod touch - at the Little Village!! He dropped the ring off at the restaurant and had it delivered with dessert and an iPod. When I turned on the iPod, the screensaver was a picture of the ring with the words, "Coila, will you marry me?" I said yes and we wed on November 7, 2008. I still use that picture as my screensaver and we treasure the Little Village as the restaurant where our love story began."
